Donald Gordon Centre wedding: A Timeless Celebration at Queen’s

On a beautiful day, Simone and Alex tied the knot in their Donald Gordon Centre wedding. This venue, renowned for its elegance and charm, provided a picturesque setting for their special day. As their wedding photographer, I had the delightful opportunity to capture the love and joy of this splendid occasion.

Preparation and Anticipation

The day began with preparations at the Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre for Simone, and at a private residence in Kingston for Alex. The air was filled with anticipation as they prepared to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Simone looked absolutely radiant in her elegant wedding gown, with makeup artfully done by Kirsten Amber McGall. Alex, in his sharp attire, shared moments of laughter and camaraderie with his groomsmen.

The First Look at Queen’s University

The ‘First Look’ was a beautifully emotional moment, set against the historic and scenic backdrop of Queen’s University. The excitement and love in Simone and Alex’s eyes as they saw each other were truly heartwarming. This special moment provided the perfect opportunity for some intimate couple portraits amidst the university’s picturesque surroundings.

The Ceremony: A Blend of Tradition and Personal Touches

The ceremony at the Donald Gordon Centre was both intimate and majestic. The venue, with its perfect blend of modern and historic elements, created an inviting atmosphere for their guests. A unique feature of the ceremony was the tree planting, symbolizing the growing and nurturing of Simone and Alex’s relationship.

Reception: A Night to Remember

The reception, held in the same venue, reflected the couple’s meticulous attention to detail and personal taste. The ambiance was further elevated by the beautiful floral arrangements from Chartreuse Flowerworks. The evening’s music, provided by Paul Todd from Diamond Productions, kept the guests entertained and added to the night’s festivities.

One of the most touching moments was the couple’s first dance to “And Then Some” by Arkells, a beautiful encapsulation of their love and commitment, immortalized in the photographs.

Capturing Every Moment

From the beginning to the end, each smile, tear, and laugh was captured, narrating the story of Simone and Alex’s wedding day through a series of candid and posed photographs. The joy and love shared with their family and friends were evident in every image.

It was an honor to be a part of Simone and Alex’s wedding day at the Donald Gordon Centre. Their celebration was not only a showcase of the venue’s beauty but also a testament to their profound love and the joyous start of their journey together. Congratulations to the lovely couple on a magnificent day!
